The First Album of DERHEROLD is out and available in all stores!
DERHEROLD is a heavy metal art project by musician and artist Olav Däumling, which is designed for three albums with the overarching title “Arcanum”. The basic idea is based on a hero’s journey of the figure of “Hërold” as a mediator between all art elements, the music and the audience.
The hero’s journey in turn is based on the Tarot, which is why the themes of the songs are determined by the Tarot cards. In addition to the music and the tarot cards, the overall concept also includes a comic, which will be available in limited form for the first album release, as well as a presence on all relevant social media.
The first album “Arcanum I – RAGE” will be released on March 7th and contains 14 songs (+ one instrumental), which, although in the broadest sense of the word, are located in the rock and metal genre, are musically extremely varied and exciting. You won’t find predictable manstream rock on the album, but rather a courageous mixture of different styles that follow a clear line, not least thanks to the vocals and the homogeneous production.
Songs like “Shuddap”, “Stormbringer” or “Inferno” deliver crisp rock/metal with progressive influences, whereas “Fading Love” is extremely melancholic and “Cruisin II” with guest singer Seraina Schöpfer (Green Labyrinth, Dreams In Questionments) sounds almost floatingly fluffy like early music. Some songs, on the other hand, can be found in the darker, sometimes somewhat disturbed/weird, alternative area.
All in all, “Arcanum I – RAGE” is an exciting journey into the musical world of the artist Olav Däumling, which is worth discovering, free of genre shackles.
Numerous singles and music videos have been and will be released to accompany the album, reinforcing the overall impression through the visual realization of the individual themes.
